Remember, your enemy is not your spouse, family, or your friends – your enemy’s the devil.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And you've had it happen. You read a book on marriage with your spouse, you set goals, make promises, and six months later the situation is just as awful. Your marriage could move forward if only your spouse would shape up. Or maybe it's the family. If your kids would be more sensitive and thankful, you wouldn't get so down. Or perhaps, it’s your friends. If only they would make the first move to plan a luncheon date instead of you always calling. But is your spouse, family, or your friends the real problem? First Peter 5 says that your enemy is the devil he’s on the prowl, looking for someone to devour. So, hey, your enemy is not your spouse, family, or your friends, your enemy’s the devil. So don’t let him get the upper hand. Keep taking the loving initiative in your marriage and among your family and your friends. It is the Christ-like thing to do every day.
