Today, try to honor God in a Philippians kind of way.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I love the book of Philippians—especially where it says, “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but to the interests of others.” That’s because, to me, that verse epitomizes my husband, Ken. I am his wife—his disabled wife—and I have seen him time and again look out for my interests before his own. It’s not only that he gets up at 4 AM to turn me every night; it’s the little things—like making certain I’ve got enough medical supplies in the cupboard or going out of his way to keep my wheelchair clean. Ken Tada is one man who looks to the interests of others. And so, I encourage you, too, to think about the needs of someone near and dear in your life. Maybe, even a person with a disability, like me. Whoever it may be, you’ll by honoring God by thinking of others in a Philippians kind of way.
