Next time you pray, remember to always think through exactly why you believe something is in his will – he’s listening.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I remember once being involved in a legal contest, and I was amazed at the amount of time and preparation our family’s lawyer poured into the case. He had obviously taken great pains to think through his argument. And when he approached the bench, our lawyer was able to convince the judge with the facts. I occasionally think about that court scene when I pray; it’s like Isaiah 1, where the Lord says, “Come now, let us reason together.” Oh, friend, God loves it when we take time to reason with him, explaining to him why we think it would be in his will for him to act in a certain way or do a certain thing. It shows the Lord that we have searched his word, and we have carefully thought through our petitions. So, next time you pray, remember to first think through exactly why you believe something is God’s will. Because the judge is listening.
