Set up your stones of remembrance like Joni says to remember what God has done, and it’ll strengthen your faith for the future.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Sandy was attending a leadership conference where she and all the young leaders were asked to read Joshua 3 and 4. That’s the account where the Israelites crossed over the Jordan river on dry ground. Then, on the other side, Joshua set up stones “so that all might know the Lord’s hand is powerful.” Well, at the conference, as everyone walked into the sanctuary, each received a small, smooth stone. And they were asked to write one word on it that showed what they’d learned. Then at the front, they placed their stones in a pile. That huge pile made quite a memorial of the work God had done in their lives at that conference. Stones of remembrance they were. And it’s what God wants you to do. Remember what God has done in your life and, yes, mark it with a memorial. It’ll be your reminder of what He has done, and it’ll strengthen your faith for what lies ahead.
