Did Jesus ask you a question today?
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. When Jesus was on earth, He asked a lot of questions. But He was all-knowing, so, He must not have been looking for answers. I mean think about the inquires He made. To blind Bartimaeus He said, “What do you want me to do for you?” And to the father begging Jesus to heal his son, the Lord said, “What do you mean, ‘If I can heal?’” Then there’s the conversation with Peter at the breakfast fish-fry. Three times Jesus asked Peter, “Do you love me?” Well, Jesus had to know what Peter would say. So, why does He ask? Well, I’m convinced the Lord wanted Peter and Bartimaeus and the father of that little boy to understand something about themselves. Oswald Chambers once wisely observed, “The Lord’s questions always reveal me to myself.” And that begs the question, what has Jesus asked you today?
