Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. It all started when a local Christian school educated its students about the need for 18 million wheelchairs around the world. One little boy, Isaiah, remembered this when he spotted a “Wheelchairs for Sale” sign at a local Goodwill store. He spread the word to his classmates and, before long, these kids were doing extra chores, holding bake sales, putting their toys out on yard sales – all with the help of their parents and teachers to collect enough money to purchase those wheelchairs for kids with disabilities. Psalm 145 says, “Each generation will announce to the next [God’s] wonderful and powerful deeds.” Join me today in praying for the teachers, parents, mentors and leaders – that we may guide the next generation in God’s word.
