Start seriously asking the Holy Spirit to fulfill his promise of completing his work in you. It’s the best and only way to grow.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Philippians 1:6 tells us to be confident of one thing: That he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. Maybe you have felt as paralyzed spiritually as I am physically. You want to grow closer to Jesus, but life feels more like a carousel than a fast gallop toward the horizon. You feel like you’re stuck; like you’re going round and round. Well, it’s time to get off the carousel. Grab hold of Philippians 1:6, and realize you have a choice: You can either believe it, or not. So, start believing it. Start seriously asking the Holy Spirit to fulfill his promise of completing his work in you. Quote Philippians 1:6 back to him. And then, get actively engaged in your own growth. Obey God in the hard things. Persevere when you feel like giving up. Read the Word when you don’t feel like it. It’s the best way; it’s the only way to grow.
