Episode Summary

When you vote for your nation’s leaders, remember to pray for them, trusting God to guide their hearts and actions.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and with presidential elections, we have the privilege and civil right to vote for the future leader of our nation. But we also have the Biblical mandate to pray for our leaders. Just look at 1 Timothy 2, where it says, “Pray…for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” More and more, our nation is spiraling out of control—drifting from God’s Word on the sanctity of life, morality, and love for our neighbors. But rather than grumble or spread anxiety, God says you can do something about it: that is pray for those in leadership. So today, join me in lifting up the president [and our future president], judges, educators, law enforcement officers. Let’s put their names before the throne of Jesus, the King of Kings and the president of all presidents.
