If you have some areas in your life where you feel weeds are growing, start plowing the soil of your heart. Get something good growing in your life!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and back on our farm in Maryland, we plow our fields every year at springtime. Funny thing about fields – if you leave them untended, a field will naturally grow weeds, and thorns, and thistles. And you know, that’s the exact same thing in life? Don’t be thinking that left to yourself, something good will just naturally spring out of your heart. We have got to cultivate life with spiritual disciplines of prayer and study of God's Word. Hosea 10 says, “Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord.” I love that! Because I know I’ve got some areas in my life that I’ve left untended, and weeds have been growing! So, come on, friend, join me in plowing the soil of your heart, turn over that hard, dry cracked ground; sow for yourself righteousness, and get something good growing in your life!
