Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. As a young college student, Nick wanted to serve God and those in need, but he wasn’t sure how. So, thinking it would be a cool experience, Nick decided to serve as a volunteer at one of our Family Retreats. While there, we paired him up with little Joseph who uses a wheelchair, and oh my goodness – Nick and Joseph did it all: the water slide, the zipline, wheelchair races, karaoke! The result? Right along with all the fun, God gripped Nick’s heart for disability ministry. Friend, maybe you want to serve God and you’re thinking, But how? Where do I start? Well, Proverbs 14:21 says, “Blessed is he who is kind to the needy.” There you have it – be kind, just as Nick was with little Joseph in all his needs.
