Pray for a whole heart so that you can pour it into every task that God sets before you.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I love Colossians 3 where it says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” It makes me think of my friend, Lynn Wheeler, who’s also a quadriplegic. For many years Lynn used my annual planner to help schedule the wonderful team of volunteer-women who came to her house in the mornings to get her ready for the day. One morning, her husband Doug happened to glance at the open planner on the dresser and he saw that one helper had written “Serve Lynn.” Not “Work for Lynn” or “Schedule me here.” No, these ladies were there to serve. It told Doug – and Lynn, too – that those girls had their hearts focused on Christ. Oh friend, would that we all put our whole heart into every task God sets before us. And do it with an eye to His glory. After all, our service counts for all of eternity!
