No matter what trouble you’re facing, you’ve got good news: a pledge from God that He is always for you through thick and thin.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You know, sometimes you find the most invigorating writings from pastors of old, like Charles Spurgeon who once wrote [now listen to this], “We preach no rickety gospel which will not bear your weight! The Gospel is no chariot whose axles will snap. It is no foundation of sand that may sink in the day of the flood! The Gospel is the everlasting God pledging Himself by oath that He will write His law on your heart, and that He will keep you!” Now that’s good news; that’s a rugged, robust Gospel, that’ll carry you through hell and high water. And it describes perfectly the God that we can trust. For Psalm 105:8 says, “He always stands by his covenant – the commitment He made to a thousand generations.” Friend, no matter what trouble you’re facing, you’ve got good news: a pledge from God that He is always for you through thick and thin.
