This is the way – leave your net at once and follow your Savior.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and my husband Ken has [what he calls] a ten-second rule. When he senses the Holy Spirit prompting him to do something or say something on behalf of the Gospel, he won’t let 10 seconds slip by. He’ll do it. “No time like the present,” he says. And Ken’s attitude is a lot like Simon and Andrew where it says in Mark 1:18 says, “At once they left their nets and followed [Jesus].” Oh, that we would be instant in obedience when the Holy Spirit whispers a directive to us. When you hear a command from Scripture, put it into practice on the spot. When you read a passage that pricks your conscience, confess your wrongdoing right then and there. Too many of us brush aside the Spirit’s prompting, when the right, or the righteous thing to do is to follow Jesus’s lead at once. Today, when you hear God say, “This is the way, walk ye in it,” at once leave your net and follow your Savior.
