If you’re discouraged today, remember you’ll be overflowing with joy in the Promised Land soon.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I love the way Psalm 34 tells us to taste and see that the Lord is good. And we’ve all tasted the goodness of the Lord, right? But consider that word “taste” – it really means just putting something on your tongue; something that well, kind of gives you a flavor of the full meal. In the same way, we have tasted that the Lord is gracious, but we have no idea how good and gracious he is. And yes, we have enjoyed the first fruits of the Holy Spirit, but we have yet to be satiated with joy. We are like the Israelites who only tasted one cluster of grapes from the Promised Land they were about to enter. They had no idea how much abundance awaited them on the other side. Friend, we are still on this side of the Jordan, tasting God’s goodness. But one day, we’re going to enter that Promise Land – yahoo! So, if you’re discouraged today, remember: you will soon be filled to overflowing with joy.
