God will engrave on your heart through his Word.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. When it comes to handling a life of paralysis, one of the most helpful scriptures I have found is from Psalm 119 where it says, “It is good for me that I have been afflicted for it has caused me to learn of Thy statutes, O Lord.” A scripture like that is helpful? I should say so! According to Psalm 119 it is good for me to be afflicted. God's primary purpose in allowing trials is to push me into his Word. And it doesn’t let up, because elsewhere in the Bible it says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous.” Oh friend, life is supposed to be hard. If you’re a Christian, then many will be your afflictions. But many will be the lessons God will engrave on your heart through his Word. So don’t despise those hardships, even if they are many. Think of them as God thinks of them – as good. Because it is never, ever bad to be in the Word of God.
