Keep trusting him and in time you will understand the heart of God in every one of your hardships.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I remember the time my friend Charlie, who has cerebral palsy, asked me a tough question. He looked down at his twisted arms and legs in his wheelchair and he said, “What possible purpose could there be in my suffering?” I told Charlie that his question really couldn’t be answered in a single conversation, or even in a book. That’s because the answers that are designed by God – and yes, even the purpose – has to be lived out in order to grasp the full understanding of the Lord’s plan. And that takes time, and it takes trust. Ecclesiastes says that there is a time for everything; even a time for understanding. So, if you have questions about your suffering, remember those two words: “time and trust.” Keep trusting in God, friend; believe in his promises; act on his word; live out your faith. And in time; you will understand the heart of God in every one of your hardships.
