If you’re feeling tired, try “letting down your net one more time” and see what God does.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Arriving at Family Retreat, eleven-year-old Jason was weighed down with more than just luggage. His family was on the brink of falling apart. Adding to his frustration, Jason fished every day to no avail. Nadine, his volunteer, encouraged him, praying that they would catch a fish. She also reminded him that even if they didn’t, God is still good. Well, on the last day, Jason’s frustration peaked. “You cast it, Nadine. I don’t even care anymore!” But he changed his mind, and he cast once more. And no sooner had his line hit the water than a fish gobbled the hook. You know, in Luke 5, Jesus tells a frustrated Peter [who also hadn’t caught fish], to let down his net one more time. And you know what happened from there! Are you like Jason, are you like Peter? A little tired of serving, ministering? Let down your net one more time. And you may well snag success.
