Your life will transform deep in Christ when you feed on his Word.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And last week my husband Ken had an arborist team come and feed our trees. They pushed long poles into the ground through which they infused nutrients deep into the soil. I tried to imagine tree roots searching through the dark soil with their tiny hairs, looking for food – how do they transmute minerals into what then becomes vegetable? It’s a mystery to me. What’s more, all of that amazing work is completely unseen and done down in the dark. The Bible often refers to us as “trees of the Lord.” And like a tree, our root is in Christ Jesus. Our life is hid in him, deep and unseen. And amazingly, when we feed on Christ – when we take him at his Word, repent and obey – the Spirit of Jesus then transforms us, and we change and grow into “oaks of righteousness” and “cedars of Lebanon.” Wow! Such a mystery! So, keep sinking your roots deep in Jesus.
