Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Life in prison can be a hopeless, discouraging time for so many inmates. Defeat and discouragement are common. But that’s not the way it is for John and the prisoners who restore our wheelchairs for Wheels for the World. As he was polishing the chrome of one of our pediatric wheelchairs, John said, “You know, working on these chairs is beautiful. I can just see the smile on the person who will receive it. It’s going to change their whole way of life.” And then he added, “This chair is the work of my hands and it’s going to be appreciated!” John is a great example of Ephesians 4:28 where it says, “Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their hands, so that they may have something to share with those in need.” Yep, God is using Wheels for the World to change lives – even the lives of prisoners.
