Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And remember Y2K? The fears and dread of people thinking the world was going to end, the antichrist was coming, and heads would be chopped off. Well, you don’t need a great tribulation or another millennium to feel like your world is coming to an end. Perhaps your reputation has been dragged through the mud, your husband left you for a coworker, or the dog tracked doo-doo all over the carpet. I tell you friend, its days like these when you feel like dropping the shield of faith, unbuckling your breastplate of righteousness, kicking off the shoes of the gospel of peace, and throwing down the sword of the Spirit. If you feel that way, it’s what Ephesians 6 calls the evil day. Friend, the evil day isn’t “out there in the future” when the world ends. No, it could be today. So, do not drop your armor. Stand firm in the Lord and watch him gain the victory over your evil day.
