When you hold fast to the hope in Jesus, you will soar so far above the cares of this world.
Hi, this is Joni Eareckson Tada. I have a couple friends who love to fly kites. Betsy and Bob are both polio survivors and they have been in wheelchairs for a very long time, but with a few adaptations, they attach the string to their wheelchairs, and off they go! I watched them, looking so carefree and happy rushing along in their wheelchairs with the wind. It was as if the kite were pulling them forward. Flying a kite for Betsy and Bob is like a picture from Isaiah where it says that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up and soar like an eagle. My two friends are able to soar above the petty inconvenience of their disabilities; and you know why? It's because they waiton the Lord. And you can, too. When you hold fast to the hope in Jesus, you will soar far, far above the cares of this world. A lesson from my kite-flying friends.
