Nothing reveals the stuff of which your Christian beliefs are made of more than going through tough times. Trials are God’s way of helping you peel back the façade and expose where you need to grow. So today, when hardship hits, let that trial do its good work.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada – asking, what do you really believe about God? I mean, what are your deep-down convictions? Well, you know that you can actually know. And here is how: The next time you suffer, watch how you react. Watch what happens in your head and heart. Because nothing reveals the stuff of which your Christian beliefs are made than tough times. Maybe that’s why the Bible says, “Rejoice in suffering” or “Welcome trials as friends.” It’s because those trials reveal who you really are; so, far from intending to discourage you, God brings trials to reveal the truth about who you are and what you really believe. And that’s a good thing – it’s God's way of helping you peel back the façade and expose where you need to grow. So today, when hardship hits, let that trial do its good work. For when you do, you’ll understand your own heart and you will know what you believe about your Lord.
