What a Thrill

Episode Summary

Be like Joni’s friend Bonnie and hold onto the promises of God’s Word – it will renew your life!

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I have a 70-year-old friend named Bonnie who is a polio survivor. She’s also in the last stages of battling cancer. Bonnie has a friend who comes over every weekend – and together, they read the Bible on the Internet. With Bonnie’s polio and cancer, she is too weak to use her mouth stick to turn the pages of her own hardbound Bible. But the other day she wrote me, “Joni, I sure do miss turning pages with my mouth stick. Something about hearing the turning of the paper pages of God’s word thrills me.” What a gem Bonnie is in Christ’s kingdom. Psalm 119 says, “My comfort in suffering is this; your promises renew my life.” The word of God is a comfort to Bonnie in her suffering – and I pray it will be just as great a comfort when you’re hurting, too. And if you need someone to pray for you in your hardships, then please let us know at joniandfriends.org.
