Be humble, seek the Lord, and your heart will not only be revived, but will spill over into others.
Hi! I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, with a question: who is the person who is best prepared for revival? Well, my friend, Nancy DeMoss, once described what such a Christian looks like. It’s a person who is not concerned so much with themself, but with others. It’s a person who risks getting close to others, and who receive criticism with a humble heart. God is not quick to use people who are always focusing on others’ failures. The person God chooses doesn’t hog the spotlight and isn't itching to always be right; they confess their sins because they are grieved over them, not because they’re concerned with the consequences of their sin or keeping up appearances. Psalm 69 says, “The humble will see their God at work and be glad. You who seek God, let your heart revive.” So, be humble and seek the Lord, and revival will come not only into your life, but it’ll spill over into others.
