When you use your God-given gifts to serve others, you become a living example of Christ’s love in action.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And my friend Judy Butler [and former executive assistant] has been a caregiver to me for over three decades now. She knows just the way I ought to sit in my wheelchair and can tell when I am in pain. And it’s because Judy has experienced what it’s like to be in the shoes of a caregiver that she traveled to Serbia to serve with our International Family Retreat leadership team. There, Judy taught a group of Serbian caregivers helpful information on alleviating the daily stress of giving care to a loved one with a disability. Judy was, as 1 Peter 4 says, being a good steward by using her gift to serve others. What gifts do you have? Sure, you may not be a caregiver but perhaps you are a prayer warrior or you like children or you speak a foreign language. If so, consider joining an International Family Retreat team.
