Jesus Christ is the most intimate expression of God's love.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and there aren’t many places on my body I can feel. Like, only from the neck up, or maybe a little bit on the tops of my shoulders. It’s why that… well, a kiss on the cheek from my husband or from an old friend? That kind of closeness, like a kiss, it means everything! ‘Cause I crave touch. Like the story of the prodigal in the Gospel of Luke, where the father runs to meet his wayward son and falls on him and kisses him – I mean, come on, that boy was the black sheep of the family, the rebel who did not deserve any kiss – but neither do we deserve a kiss from our Father. If anything, we deserve a slap from God! But, oh, God's amazing grace – he gives us the kiss of peace, His Son. And that’s the touch that I hope that you crave. For there is no more intimate expression of God’s love than Jesus Christ, and I hope that means everything to you!
