Speak wise words of truth to families like Obed’s.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. In countries like Uganda, children with disabilities are often outcast from their villages. It’s why when our Wheels for the World team travels to Uganda to distribute wheelchairs, they always carry Bibles to speak words of truth to these families. When we met Obed, the father of a severely disabled boy, he said: “I need God’s help to be the right kind of father. My culture says my son is worthless. I need a new kind of wisdom.” And so, we opened the Bible to 2 Corinthians, where it says: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, and the new has come!” Those words really spoke to Obed, and he eagerly prayed to receive Jesus and the wisdom he needs to lead his family.
