As a Christian, you will face troubles, but do not lose faith. Take heart in the words of Hezekiah and remember, the Lord is your help and He fights your battles.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently, while reading 2 Chronicles, I stumbled upon a puzzling verse. In chapter 32 it says: “After all that Hezekiah had so faithfully done, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah.” Hezekiah was a good and generous king. He diligently worked to purify the temple and “did what was right before the Lord.” So, you would expect this verse to read, “After all that Hezekiah had so faithfully done, he lived happily ever after.” But the reality is, hardships followed: his town faced invasion. Yet rather than become disheartened, Hezekiah, encouraged his people, “Be strong and courageous,” he said. “With us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” As a Christian, you will face troubles, but do not lose faith.
