You can do it! Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and what I am referring to is ministry to those with disabilities. For some, even the mention of the word disability stirs fear and insecurity. And that was true for Anna. Although from a distance she admired those who served in disability ministry she never pictured herself getting involved. Anna feared she would inadvertently say something offensive or do something wrong. But when Anna signed up to volunteer at a family retreat her fears were replaced by love. Anna says of her experience, “I left Family Retreat knowing that something far greater than our own human effort is at work when we offer ourselves in service to the disability community.” Oh friend, do not let fear keep you from serving the disability community.
