Give words of wisdom to those who are weary around you.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and the other day I was feeling weary and a little blue. My husband could see it. So, he put his hand on my shoulder and said, “Joni, remember we saw the movie Cinderella last weekend? And remember how Cinderella always said, ‘Have courage and be kind.’ Well, you have the part down pretty good about being kind; but right now, you just need a little courage.” Wow, his words lifted my spirits, and I was able to turn to my Savior for help. I’m so grateful for wise words from my husband, even if they were drawn from Cinderella. Ken has the “well-instructed tongue” that Isaiah 50, talks about: “The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary.” Oh friend, can you give words that sustain weary people around you? Our Sovereign Lord has them, so look to Him every day for His instruction.
