Pray for and befriend people who don’t know Jesus so that they’ll get to know him before the Lord comes.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And there’s one verse in the Bible that causes my knees to shake. It’s John 5 where Jesus says, “…A time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.” Yikes! I mean, think about it. The people you see every day—people at the gas station, people in line at the ATM, folks flipping burgers at McDonald’s. We see them all the time, but the trouble is, we never really picture that person one day rising out of his grave to be either condemned or to live. It’s a terrifying thought, but the Bible says it clearly: if people don’t know Jesus, God won’t accept them. So, how can you help those people get to know God? Pray for them, befriend them, and then—share your faith. The Lord is coming soon, and we’ve got a lot of work to do!
