Obey God in the hard things because the last thing you want, is to be least in the kingdom of heaven.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. If you are a true disciple of Jesus, you cannot lose your salvation. But you can lose your inheritance. First Peter 1 says that God is storing up “an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you.” Colossians 3 even says that our inheritance is a reward—it’s something we earn as we lay up treasure in heaven. But there’s one more important thing the Bible says about inheritance. We can lose it. We can diminish it. We can lessen it and make it smaller. Matthew 5:19 has a warning. It says, “Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven.” Oh friend, join me in a new level of trust and obedience to God. Obey him in the hard things. Because the last thing, I know, you and I want is to be least in the kingdom of heaven.
