You are not an accident—God chose you and planned your purpose long before the universe even existed.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And it is so sad to wake up in the morning and feel like your life is going nowhere—like there’s no point in being alive. Occasionally you might get a little flicker, a little daydream of something grand or significant, but then the day wears on and things seem small and pitiful again. Well, friend, nothing could be further from the truth! God’s purpose in the salvation of his people is invincible and primordial—it cannot fail—because it is based first not on our choosing God but on God’s choosing us. Ephesians 1 says that: “[God] chose us in [Christ] before the foundation of the world.” Friend, your salvation is older than the creation of the universe when God planned the history of redemption. You have been in the mind of God ever since time immemorial. So do not give up on life. Your destiny has been planned and purposed longer than the universe has existed! And that is a great thought to wake up to in the morning.
