Tune in to hear Joni share a touching story about her friend Gail, who held onto the hope of Jesus Christ even in the face of hardship.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And when my friend, Gail McWilliams, was three months pregnant, she learned that she would lose her eyesight through her pregnancy. The doctor was very clear: she had to choose between her eyes or her baby. But you want to know what Bible verse kept going through Gail’s mind? It was Deuteronomy 30 that says, “I’ve set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. So, choose life, that you and your descendants may live.” And so, Gail chose life so that her baby might live. Gail lost her eyesight, but she continues to choose life and hope each day. Because as Gail says, “Hope always sees beyond the challenge.” It’s the hope of Jesus that gives Gail the vision to keep going. So let the words of Gail encourage you today, friend, to—no matter what troubles you face—hold on to hope and hold on to life. Choose life in the hope of Jesus Christ.
