Follow King David’s lead and pass on your wisdom to the next generation!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Recently while reading through 1 Chronicles, I got a clear picture of King David as he was aging. We see David as old and decrepit; just a shadow of his former self, shivering under the covers with aches and pains. But near the end of the 28th chapter, we see him suddenly change. Out of nowhere, King David rallies himself and sits up in bed. It’s as though he realizes he has one more important thing to accomplish, and so he tells his officials to follow all the commands of the Lord; and then he tells Solomon to serve God with all his heart and build the temple. Friend, if you are feeling old; if you’re in your latter years and thinking that your purpose is used up, think twice! God wants you to use your experience and your wisdom to speak into the next new generation. So, follow King David’s lead, and pass it on, to the new generation friend; pass it on!
